This is our first webinar which will give you an overview of The Ideas Fund. We’ll talk about the application process, who and what might be eligible, what support is available and the exciting possibilities that can happen when communities work with researchers.
We ran our first themed pre-application workshop on Thursday 18 February called 'Why The Ideas Fund?' which is just the beginning of the series of support available for communities.
In this session we introduced The Ideas Fund including details on the application process, key dates, timescales, met many of people involved in the Fund including the Development Coordinators in the four areas and finally provided information on the support available to help you decide whether this is the right fund for you.
Speakers include The Ideas Fund team, the Development Coordinators, Alma Jbeili and Dr Bella Starling from Planet DIVOC-91 and Naheed Tahir and Neil Joseph from ARC Northwest Coast, Gill Riches from the British Science Association and Dr Alexandra Parsons from Wellcome
You can watch the full webinar recording below and a written summary with follow on reflection sheets is available here. We also produced a Q&A document based on the questions we received during the session and during our first regional workshops in February.
We will be running two further National workshops which are:
- What does Mental Wellbeing mean to you?’ on Thursday 4 March 2021 at 14:00
- What does your ideal partnership look like? Building community-researcher partnerships on Thursday 18 March 2021 at 14:00.
We are also holding local sessions in each area between these workshops, so you can get to know your local Development Coordinator and start to think through your idea.

- Hull on Friday 26 February 2021 at 10:00
- North West Northern Ireland on Thursday 25 February 2021 at 14:00
