Reimagining Research

Since the start of the Fund, we’ve seen projects challenging traditional norms about what research is, who does it and how it is done. We’ve recently dug deeper with our project partners to try and capture what this has looked and felt like, and how it changes people, personally and professionally.

What they told us was diverse, rich and grounded in their experience of collaboration, including insights around:

  • Researchers bringing their ‘whole self’ to the work
  • Going beyond the journal article
  • Opening up more opportunities to make a tangible difference locally
  • How the work itself is helping to improve mental health and wellbeing and much, much more!

These learnings were captured in partnership with Ellen Care at Collaborate CIC, and the design completed by our brilliant creative partners, Hannah Mumby and Ella Harris.

Most importantly, it draws together learning from across a group of incredible projects and individuals who have been involved in the Fund over recent years. We’re immensely grateful to them for sharing their thoughts with us for this piece. We’d love to hear what you think! You can get in touch at hello@theideasfund.org.
